Frequently Asked Questions

What is a paring knife used for?

Small, precise jobs held in the hand or on the board: peeling, trimming, hulling strawberries, segmenting citrus and garnish work.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

It is dishwasher safe, but hand washing and drying straight away keeps the edge sharper for longer and protects the handle.

How do I keep it sharp?

Hone it regularly on a steel and sharpen it on a whetstone or by a sharpening service when honing no longer brings back the edge.

Is the handle hygienic?

Yes. The handle is moulded for a seamless join with the blade, so there are fewer places for food and bacteria to collect.

How should I store it?

Use a knife roll, magnetic rack or knife block so the edge does not knock against other tools.
