How do I look after it?
Hand wash in warm soapy water, dry straight away and store it in a knife block, magnetic rack or sleeve. Dishwashers dull and damage blades.
How often should I sharpen it?
Hone on a steel regularly during use and sharpen on a stone or have it professionally sharpened when honing no longer brings the edge back.
Can I cut on any surface?
Use polyethylene or wooden boards. Glass, stone and steel benches will blunt the edge fast.
What is a santoku used for?
Slicing, dicing and mincing - especially vegetables, herbs and boneless meat and fish.
Is it dishwasher safe?
It can go in the dishwasher, but hand washing keeps the edge sharper for longer.

The Santoku Knife is the Japanese take on the general-purpose kitchen knife. It excels at slicing, dicing and mincing; but its biggest talent is being multi-talented doing everything well. Thanks to its special shape, low weight and excellent balance, you'll find the Santoku to be a true all-rounder that's a joy to use day in and day out.
