Is it ready to use?

Yes. It comes pre-seasoned. Give it a rinse and a light wipe of oil before first use.

How do I clean it?

Wash with hot water and a brush while it is still warm, dry it straight away on low heat and wipe with a thin coat of oil. Avoid dishwashers and long soaks.

Can I put the wooden tray in the oven?

No. The tray is for serving only. Heat the cast iron on its own and place it on the tray just before it goes out.

Is it safe to touch?

No. Cast iron stays very hot for a long time. Use a handle cover or cloth, and warn guests the plate is hot.

What if it rusts?

Scrub off the rust, rinse, dry fully and re-season with a thin coat of oil heated in the oven or on the stove.
