This pocket dial thermometer is a simple, battery-free probe thermometer for everyday temperature checks in the kitchen. Slip it into a jacket pocket or apron and it is ready for checking deliveries, cooked food, hot holding and cooling.
A dial thermometer has no batteries to go flat, so it is a handy back-up to a digital thermometer. The pocket sleeve protects the probe and usually doubles as a clip, keeping it within easy reach through service.

What can I use it for?
Checking the internal temperature of cooked and reheated food, hot and cold holding, cooling, and incoming deliveries.
How far should I insert the probe?
Push the probe into the thickest part of the food, away from bone or the pan, and wait for the needle to settle before reading.
How do I clean it between foods?
Wipe the probe with a food-safe sanitiser wipe or wash and sanitise it between foods to avoid cross-contamination. Do not submerge the dial.
Can the dial be recalibrated?
Many pocket dial thermometers have a small adjusting nut under the dial. Check it in iced water and adjust if needed.
How often should I check my thermometer is accurate?
Check it regularly, for example weekly, in iced water (it should read close to 0°C) and in boiling water (close to 100°C at sea level). Recording these checks is good practice for your food safety plan.
