The HLP Controls Short 135mm milk jug thermometer clips onto the side of your frothing jug so baristas can see the milk temperature at a glance while steaming. It reads from 0 to 100°C on an easy-to-read dial, with a 135mm food-grade stainless steel probe.
Steaming to the right temperature gives sweeter, silkier milk and more consistent coffee from every barista on the machine, and stops milk being scalded. The colour-coded clip holds the probe firmly in place at the height you set.

What temperature should I steam milk to?
Most cafes aim for around 60 to 65°C for standard milk drinks. Going much hotter scalds the milk and loses sweetness.
How do I fit it to the jug?
Slide the clip onto the rim of the jug and set the probe so the tip sits in the middle of the milk, not touching the bottom.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the probe with a clean, damp cloth or sanitiser after each use. Do not submerge the dial or put it in the dishwasher.
Why is the reading slightly behind?
Dial thermometers take a moment to catch up, so many baristas stop steaming a few degrees before their target.
Which length do I need?
Use the short probe for small jugs and the long probe for larger jugs, so the tip sits in the middle of the milk.
